It was an incredibly low-scoring affair at Croke Park this afternoon, but Mick Bohan's Dublin ladies have secured three All-Ireland senior football titles in a row.
There were just two scores in a drab first-half at headquarters, with the first score of the game not arriving until the 23rd minute.
Foxrock-Cabinteely star Sinéad Goldrick looped home a well-taken goal under pressure from a number of Galway defenders. Galway's Sarah Conneelly lofted a point over with her right not long afterward to leave just two in it at the break.
The dour conditions and hangover celebrations from the men's historic five-in-a-row win last night didn't stop a record attendance of 56,114 attending tod's final, a figure which will be seen as a massive boost for the ladies game.
Galway's Mairéad Seoighe received a yellow card and ten minutes in the bin early in the second half, and in that period the Dubs grabbed another vital maximum. This time it was Hannah O'Neill who palmed to the net after brilliant work from Niamh McEvoy and Lyndsey Davey.

A couple of Tracey Leonard frees ensured the Tribes kept an interest in affairs as they attempted to win the Brendan Martin Cup for the first time since 2004.
But it wasn't to be for Tim Rabbitt's side, who also experienced defeat in the Lidl National League Division One final earlier this year, losing to Cork.
Inspirational late scores from captain Sinead Ahearne and Noelle Healy sealed the win for the Dubs, and they ran out five-point winners on a 2-3 to 0-4 scoreline. Capital star Lyndsey Davey was awarded the TG4 Player of the Match afterward, with neither side getting any real opportunity to shine.
You have to go back to 2004 for the last time either Dublin or Cork didn't win this competition, and that record continues into the 2020 campaign.
Aisling McCarthy scored 1-2 (including a crucial second-half goal) as Tipperary won the intermediate final, beating Meath 2-16 to 1-14.
And Louth became the junior champions after beating Fermanagh 3-13 to 2-6 in the 11.45am throw-in at Croker.
