Donegal's Neil Gallagher forced to retire

Donegal midfielder Neil Gallagher has been forced to retire from inter-county football due to injuries.

Donegal confirmed Gallagher's decision to retire on Twitter, writing: "Rory Gallagher has today confirmed that due to injury Neil Gallagher has retired from Inter County Football. Thank you Neil for all you did."

His Donegal team-mate Michael Murphy also tribute to a man he won the All Ireland with in 2012.

The two are club team-mates at Glenswilly.

Donegal play their third match of the 2017 Allianz Football League on February 26th against Dublin.

They lost their opening match to Kerry by a 2-17 to 1-17 score but got their first win on the board against Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park by 0-16 to 2-9.
