Donegal inter-county footballer Odhran MacNiallais has revealed that he won't be involved with his county during the 2017 season.
The 24 year old told The Donegal Democrat that it is a decision made for personal reasons.
MacNiallais also confirmed that there was no conflict or fallout with the Donegal setup and management, but said he was "not sure" about speculation that he will spend time in the United States during 2017.
"I’m taking a year out, but not sure about the American part," he told the paper.
"There was no fall out or anything with management or players. It is just for personal reasons."
Having first made the jump up to the senior Donegal setup under Jim McGuinness during 2011, he was part of the county side that won the Ulster Championship in 2014.
The Gaoth Dobahir club man will be the second regular member of the panel not to be involved in 2017 after team-mate Leo McLoone announced at the end of December that he is opting out.
Donegal begin their 2017 Ulster championship campaign in May against Antrim.
Before that they are involved in the National Football League in the spring.
Their first match is a Division One clash against Kerry at Letterkenny's O'Donnell Park on February 5th.
