For the fifth year in a row, Cork were crowned National Football League Division 1 champions.
The reigning All-Ireland champions defeated Donegal 2-15 to 2-14 in Parnell Park. Orla Finn top-scored for The Rebelettes hitting 1-10 in glorious conditions in Parnell Park.
Speaking after the match to Jerome Quinn for Ladies Football TV, Cork captain Doireann O'Sullivan called lifting the trophy for the first time as captain as a "very special moment".
"Representing Cork is a massive honour on the pitch. To go a step further and be captain was very special."
Donegal were competing in their first Division 1 National League Final on Sunday afternoon, and O'Sullivan admitted the Ulster side were "well up there" with the likes of rivals Dublin and Kerry.
"They've some serious forwards, and we were under massive pressure today. They hit some uncharacteristic wides, and we did get out of jail".
"We had a young team out there today, and to get a good start was important. The average age of the team was 21".
O'Sullivan's sister Ciara captained the team, before leaving the squad to travel. She is to return in time for Cork's Championship defence and Doireann expects he to take the captain's position once more.
Such is Cork's dominance, you would not be surprised to see an O'Sullivan, whether it's Ciara or Doireann, lift the Brendan Martin Cup later this year.
