Cork have expressed their displeasure at a statement released by the Munster council that the capacity for this years Munster senior hurling final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh will be 32,168.
Limerick are believed to have lobbied officials to change the venue despite the home/away agreement the two counties have.
The Shannonsiders believe thousands of their fans won’t get to the game if it’s held in Cork.
It's understood that the Munster council are looking at the venue opening pending further inspections but it’s believed the capacity could go up if the Health and safety officer approves it.
But it all depends on the completion of remedial work being carried out in time.
Even if it does, it’s still seen as a poor venue which falls way short of what the modern fan requires, especially when you look at Thurles and it’s 44,000 capacity.
