Canavan, Fallon and Canty talk All Ireland wins

Three All Ireland-winning football greats who have all since called it a day at inter-county level joined us on tonight's GAA special in scenic Co Kerry.

Cork's Graham Canty, Tyrone's Peter Canavan and Galway's Ja Fallon were on hand to talk about their careers and retirement.

Canavan reminisced about Tyrone's rivalry with Kerry, dating from his time at underage level.

"From our point of view, the 2005 final was special because we had a special reason to win it - the fact that we had lost Cormac McAnallen a year before. That final against Kerry, there was exceptional football played by both teams and Tyrone had to play very well to beat Kerry. And it's a mark of respect and a measure of how everybody holds Kerry that you enjoy playing against them in the Championship and whenever you get the chance to beat them, you enjoy it," said Canavan.

Fallon recalled how he arrived in the Galway panel late on in the 1998 All Ireland-winning year and he felt the freshness benefited him in a memorable campaign as he played a key role.

Canty finally got his hands on Sam Maguire in 2010 and he recalled the long road to glory for the Rebels.

The lads talked about the adjustment after retiring from playing inter-county for so long and their expectations for this season's Championship.

Canavan believes that "Dublin will find it very hard to retain the All Ireland."
