Brendan Devenney's giving Donegal every chance of a long summer if they overcome Tyrone

Brendan Devenney believes "anything's possible" for Donegal if they can overcome Tyrone in the Ulster football final.

Rory Gallagher's side defeated Monaghan in a replay to book their place in the decider, with the winner on course to face the winner of the Connacht crown (Roscommon or Galway) in the All-Ireland semi-final if both provincial champions beat qualifier opposition in the quarter-finals.

Ex-Donegal forward Devenney reckons Donegal have a good chance of going deep into the All-Ireland series should they triumph in the Ulster final.

"It's a strange kind of mix. I suppose if you look at the likes of Lacey, McElhinney, Kavanagh, Eamon McGee and Anthony Thompson, there's rejuvenation [with] Gillespie, the two McHughs, Martin O'Reilly, Paddy McBrearty and Gallagher's plan... we had an iffy enough league and he says 'listen, it's all going to be about the Championship' and certainly his plan seems to be coming together," he told Off The Ball, adding that Neil McGee's return will be a "huge plus".

"Donegal all of a sudden on the side of the draw, if they were to take Tyrone, you know I think anything's possible for this team."

But he does believe the bench is an issue that will need to be addressed.
