Anthony Nash: 'For the time being, I'll just try and worry about the goalkeeping'

This coming Sunday, Cork will try to get revenge on Waterford in their Munster Hurling championship opener just weeks after losing to the Deise in the Allianz League final.

While much was made of Waterford's style of hurling, Cork goalkeeper Anthony Nash told Newstalk's Oisin Langan that what really matters is the response the Rebels can concoct in the meantime.

"Everyone's going on about their gameplan, but they're fit and they're strong and they work very hard for each other," he said.

"We're not happy with our performance. Waterford played really, really well. We just have to improve our own performance and improve how we hurled the last day more so than worry about how Waterford did. They deserved their victory.

Nash also suggested that penalty-taking will not be something we will see him doing very often this summer.

"I'd say not. I don't know what the manager will do. Patrick [Horgan] was taking them last year so he might start with them again. But if the manager asked me to go up and take one, of course I would. But for the time being, I'll just try and worry about the goalkeeping aspect," he said.
