Former Meath captain Anthony Moyles joined OTB AM on Monday morning to discuss Kerry's All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Tyrone on Saturday.
Peter Keane's side were favourites heading into their final-four clash with Tyrone, but fell to a one-point defeat after extra-time at Croke Park. The 3-14 to 0-22 loss means that Kerry's wait for a first All-Ireland title since 2014 continues, with Tyrone and Mayo to clash on September 11th.
Moyles was asked about a potential change in the managerial ranks for Kerry but opted to focus on concerns over the internal view of Kerry's forwards, outlining that he would have been 'unbelievably pissed off' if he was a defender for the Kingdom in Saturday's clash.
"I do think what they need to do is they need to hit the reset in regards how they're viewing their own personnel within the camp and especially the forwards," Moyles said.
"I would have had worries coming into this game about the defence and actually if I was a defender in that game, by and large, I would have been unbelievably pissed off at the forwards and the fact that they kept bringing the ball into the tackle.
"The fact that they kept getting stripped of the ball. It was as plain as day that was what was happening and every time it happened it gave Tyrone more energy and more fuel."
Despite COVID struggles within the camp which caused the semi-final clash to be pushed back, Tyrone looked impressive in Croke Park, however Moyles was keen to point out that he is not buying the narrative that they were hungrier than Kerry on the day.
"It isn't a hunger. It isn't saying, oh they wanted it more, that's absolute BS," insisted Moyles.
"The thing is, if you look for the McShane goal and how easily that happens, it's a very very simple move. Tyrone come and most of the Kerry defenders, if you stop the play, most of them have their back to the ball.
"They're all chasing back in towards their goal. There's no one facing the play and coming out. So guys are turned and they don't know where their forward is. "
