Anthony Daly names Munster panel for inter-provincial series

Former Clare and Dublin hurling manager Anthony Daly has unveiled the Munster panel for the inter-provincial series on the weekend of December 10th and 11th.

Waterford and Tipperary provide the bulk of the players for the province with nine from the Premier county and eight from the Deise.

All Star hurler of the Year Austin Gleeson has been included alongside seven of his Waterford team-mate.

Seamus Callanan is among the Tipp contingent.

Kerry and Cork provide one player each, while Daly's native Clare has a contingent of three.

Munster Panel 

Clare: Cian Dillon, David Reidy and Aaron Shanagher

Cork: Anthony Nash

Kerry: Tom Murnane

Limerick: Diarmuid Byrnes, Tom Condon, Shane Dowling, Cian Lynch and Barry Nash

Tipperary: James Barry, Michael Breen, Seamus Callanan, Darren Gleeson, Brendan Maher (Captain), Padraic Maher, Dan McCormack, Noel McGrath and John O’Dwyer

Waterford: Jamie Barron, Shane Bennett, Stephen Bennett, Noel Connors, Barry Coughlan, Shane Fives, Austin Gleeson and Pauric Mahony

Management: Anthony Daly (Clare), Tommy Dunne (Tipperary), John Mullane (Waterford)

 

Meanwhile, the Munster football panel has also been revealed by Ger O'Sullivan.

All-Ireland semi-finalists Kerry provide two players, while fellow last-four team Tipperary have five players in the panel.

Clare, who also had a memorable summer in reaching the quarter-finals provide the most players with six.

Three Waterford players are included, as well as five from Cork and two from Limerick.

Clare: Gary Brennan, Eoin Cleary, Kevin Hartnett, Jamie Malone, Keelan Sexton and David Tubridy

Cork: Tom Clancy, Ruairi Deane, Conor Dorman, Colm O’Driscoll and Kevin O’Driscoll

Kerry: Aidan O’Mahony and Tommy Walsh

Limerick: Iain Corbett and Darragh Treacy

Tipperary: Alan Campbell, Evan Comerford, Brian Fox, Michael Quinlivan and Conor Sweeney

Waterford: Patrick Hurney, Tomás O’Gorman and Paul Whyte

Management: Ger O’Sullivan (Cork), Declan Browne (Tipperary), Dave Geaney (Kerry).

The hurling and football semi-finals will be played on Saturday, December 10th as a double header, with the finals staged the following day.

In football, Leinster will face holders Connacht, with Munster facing Ulster at Parnell Park. The final will take place there the next day. In hurling, Munster will meet Ulster and reigning champions Leinster will face Connacht in a double bill at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh with the following day’s final scheduled for Semple Stadium.
