Mayo's Andy Moran has his sight firmly set on finally getting his hands on Sam Maguire in 2017.
The Ballaghaderreen clubman was on Off The Ball's All-Star panel alongside Clare's Gary Brennan and Tyrone's Mattie Donnelly.
Speaking to Dave McIntyre, Moran, who recently turned 33 on November 2nd, said he and the rest of the older guard from the Mayo panel in 2016 will be back next year if they remain in manager Stephen Rochford's plans.
And he says his own circumstances mean it's easier for him to make a decision about his playing future at inter-county level.
"I live at home, my business is in Castlebar. My stage of my life, it's a lot easier for me to make the decision. So if the wife gives me the green light, I can do whatever I want," he said.
"So basically, that makes the decision for me. I think the challenging group in the GAA are the guys between 25 and 28, who want to make a career choice, might want to travel, or might want to move to Dublin, which makes it more difficult to play for Mayo. You know, little things like that. They're the guys I'd worry about more so.
"If the manager wants us older fellas back, I haven't talked to them, but I'm sure we'd be coming back, if he wants us back."
His county team-mate Lee Keegan is Footballer of the Year for 2016 and Moran gave his first-hand take on what makes him the player he is.
"Lee is probably a genetic freak anyway the way he can move around the field. He's just aerobically very strong. But his football skill is just insane. But he's one of these guys who doesn't think too much about it. He literally comes in, he's as calm as a breeze, walks into Croke Park, walks into McHale Park and he just does his job," he said.
