Earlier this week, the topic of commitment amongst GAA club players gained national attention with the launch of the Club Players Association.
Just hours after the launch in Dublin, a photo was released on social media, of the rules member of Dublin's St. Brigids need to follow if they are to stay part of the Senior football panel.
Journalist Ewan McKenna got his hands on the document which showed the strict guidelines the players of the north Dublin club need to abide by.
Among the rules that were published were:
- All holidays must be agreed in advance with management and only taken during breaks in the season.
- I will give 100% at each and every training session.
- I will make all sacrifices required to make St Brigid's, my team and myself succeed.
- I will congratulate my teammates chosen on match days, if I am not in the starting team I will encourage them on the pitch and be ready to give my all for the team if called upon.
While the club have been openly criticised for the contacts, plenty of clubs, including St. Brigids themselves have produced satirical versions for their players.
Laois club Crettyard have gone a step further, trying to bring the fun back into club football. Last year, the club reached the Laois semi-finals before losing to Stradbally.

Among the rules produced involved strict social media guidelines, and the rationing of post-match sausages and chicken goujons.
In what has been a testing week for the club game, it's encouraging to see some clubs enjoying themselves ahead of a busy year.
