With the global COVID-19 pandemic causing disruption in people's daily lives and the sporting calendar, any distractions and entertainment are very welcome and FIFA are doing their part.
At the moment, football is at the bottom of the agenda in terms of global importance but FIFA have announced an initiative that will definitely appeal to anyone that's missing their regular fix of the beautiful game.
That's because FIFA has opened up their video archive across multiple content channels, until regular football activities are restored across the world.
In doing so, viewers will be able to relive some classic matches from World Cup history.
In terms of how the initiative works, the #WorldCupAtHome campaign will include full match replays of more than 30 memorable games from the World Cup and Women’s World Cup.
These games will be published for the first time on FIFA.com and the FIFA YouTube channel from Saturday, March 21st.
As stated on the FIFA website: "The replays will provide an immersive experience with extensive social media engagement providing fans the opportunity across the globe to select their favourite matches to be re-broadcast until further notice.
"Additional engagement opportunities will also allow the community to interact with live chat on YouTube, votes for favourite moment of the match across various FIFA social media channels will further re-simulate the live match experience, while documentaries and interviews with famous football players and coaches will further deepen the content inventory."
To access this archive footage, fans must visit FIFA.com and/or the FIFA YouTube channel, with full details of the inventory being made available on the FIFA Twitter account and their various other social media accounts.
The opening votes include the option for fans to vote for three matches from the 2014 FIFA World Cup - the memorable group stage game between Spain and the Netherlands, Brazil taking on a James Rodriguez-inspired Colombia in the quarter-final phase, or the final between Germany and Argentina.
A campaign to get the Republic of Ireland vs Italy at USA '94, and Republic of Ireland vs Germany in '02 starts here.
