England rugby head-coach Eddie Jones has agreed to take a pay cut of more than 25% because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The Australian has joined the RFU's highest-paid executives in accepting a reduction to help limit the financial impact of the pandemic.
"Eddie is overseas at present and when I contacted him regarding our Executive pay reduction proposals he immediately agreed," RFU CEO Bill Sweeney confirmed.
Jones' contract, which expires in July 2021, is worth £750,000 per year - which makes him the best paid coach in international rugby. So far, there's no breakthrough on a fresh deal ahead of the 2023 World Cup.
The RFU say they don't expect games to resume until the Autumn and they're now braced for losses of up to £50-million from their revenue in the next 18-months.
"The RFU's biggest asset is also a major cost and the closure of Twickenham Stadium has a significant impact on the revenues we can generate to re-invest back into the game" Sweeney added.
"In that sense we are like every other club in the Union, when we do not stage matches and events we do not generate revenue.
"Based on our planning assumption we estimate RFU revenue losses over the next 18 months to be approximately £45-£50m and have a firm plan in place to mitigate this".
