Eintracht Frankfurt fans banned from Europa League match at Arsenal

Eintracht Frankfurt fans will be banned from their Europa League tie at Arsenal later this month.

The club have unsuccessfully appealed against a two-match away suspension from UEFA for a number of disciplinary issues, including crowd disturbances.

"The appeal of Eintracht Frankfurt against the judgement of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Commission of 17 October 2019 was rejected by the competent chamber last night," the German club confirmed this afternoon.

"As a result, the 'cut-off penalty' for the game at Arsenal FC on 28 November in London continues."

It means only Arsenal fans will be allowed to buy tickets for the group game at the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners striker Alexander Lacazette meanwhile has given under-pressure manager Unai Emery his backing.

Arsenal are eight-points outside the top-four after winning just one of their last five games.

"We're working together everyday on a constant basis to pick up the slack," he told Arsenal's website.

"The group definitely supports the coach and I'm sure the club does as well. We're a very tight group, and we're doing everything we can to improve.

"I'd say his best quality is that he's really passionate. Every day at training, he's really happy to be there and to work with us, to teach us and his staff things."
