Reports emerged on Sunday that Dundalk's chairman Bill Hullsizer will host a meeting to assuage differences between manager Vinny Perth and director of football Jim Magilton.
Perth was reappointed manager of the first team last week, but The Times believes that Magilton had a preference for former Dundalk player Dave Rogers.
“Absolutely not,” Hulsizer said when asked if Magilton had been overruled in the appointment.
“Jim interviewed five or six people. Some of them he didn’t even bother to bring to the board. He brought us two. We discussed it and we all agreed that Vinny was the guy.
"I interviewed Dave Rogers. I think the world of him and I’m hoping that there will be a role for him down the line at this club, because we share the same philosophy.”

The newspaper quotes Hulsizer as explaining the limitations facing the board when appointing a new coach.
“Believe me, we searched and we looked,” Hulsizer said. “There were a number of issues: Who could we get in who didn’t have to quarantine for 14 days? Who can we afford? If Mauricio Pochettino had said he would do it for free, he would have been on the next plane.
“The league is as competitive as any in the world, but there is no money to be made in Ireland outside of European competitions. The lowest team in the top league in Finland makes more than the winner of the Premier League in Ireland.
"It’s a sport but it is also a business. The players don’t play for free.”
Vinny Perth
44-year old Perth had made no secret of his openness to a return to Dundalk.
He told Off The Ball in April, "The Dundalk project, I don’t think, is over yet. I believe that Dundalk as a squad is as good as any other squad and they can still win the league this year.
“I have unfinished business in football and League of Ireland. I definitely have unfinished business in Dundalk.
“It was a huge part of my life for eight years.”
