Jon Jones wasted little time in calling out UFC heavyweight champion and fierce rival Daniel Cormier after winning the light heavyweight title in California on Saturday night.
On his return from a doping ban, Jones overcame Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 to win the 205lbs strap once again and speaking to Joes Rogan after the bout, called out his biggest rival.
"There’s a guy calling himself champ-champ," he said. "Daddy’s home, DC. Come get your belt back. It will be waiting right here."
Daddy’s home, DC. Come get your belt back.
Cormier, for his part, has been offering his two cents all week as the build-up to this card played out and couldn't resist a dig at 'Bones' after the fight.
I mean shit , he should win! Dude starts with a head start everytime #usadafake #jonnybrasco

It remains unclear as to whether Cormier will fight again at light heavyweight and has previously expressed an interest in fighting Brock Lesnar.
The 39-year-old beat Stipe Miocic earlier this year to win the title and defeated Derrick Lewis in November to become the first fighter in UFC history to defend the light heavyweight and heavyweight titles.
