'Clubs will take Mings before Grealish' | Damien Delaney on Aston Villa

While the transfer talk is all about Jack Grealish, Damien Delaney believes that Tyrone Mings may be the Aston Villa player that interests clubs the most.

Speaking after commentating for Off The Ball on Villa's 2-0 loss to Liverpool, Delaney explained why he feels the defender might be more of a prized asset.

"I think he is a fantastic player. At the minute, he and Tyrone Mings are the only bright sparks [for Villa]," says Delaney.

"Tyrone Mings will go and I think he'll go quicker than Jack Grealish, because people will be haggling over the fee for Grealish.

"I think someone is going to come in and take Tyrone Mings straight out of Aston Villa - and a good side as well."

Then which side would be interested?

"If I was Jose Mourinho looking at that Aston Villa side, I would be thinking [Mings] is the type of player I want in my team."

Grealish, meanwhile, came in for some near-criticism from Sky Sports' Graeme Souness, who questioned the Englishman's abilities at the highest level.

"I just think anyone that gets tackled that much and gets that many fouls is not seeing the picture quick enough," said Souness.

"I always come back to, being an old midfield player, would I have liked to play against him? I'd have loved to have played against him, because he allows me to get physical with him.

"Do I want to play against Paul Scholes? He was too quick, Xavi, Iniesta, those types... popping off one-twos.

"I wanted to play against people like him [Grealish] because I know he's going to allow me to mess him around."
