Many football fans will have one or two jerseys tucked away in their wardrobe and usually dust them off when either the club or national team are in action.
But some people have extensive collections with rare and niche football shirts from far afield.
Welshman Neal Heard is someone who knows a thing or two about that.
He has an authored a book called A Lover's Guide to Football Shirts and this week he joined Newstalk's Team 33 to discuss his passion for jerseys.

Wales 1976-78: "It's the Admiral jersey with the tramlines going down it, I think is a brilliant shirt. I just adore it and it was a brilliant kit."

Saint-Etienne circa 1981: "I've always loved Saint-Etienne in the late '70s, early '80s. Especially there's one they wore around '81 when Michel Platini and Johnny Rep was playing for them. It was green with thin hooped green stripes and then this massive big sponsor 'Super Tele' in that era when the French were doing overt branding and oversized logos before any of us."

Juventus early 1980s: "I always go back to Juve because I think if one side reeks of being Champions League, to me it's Juventus. So again I'd probably go back to when I was young, so I think of Juventus with Platini again and Boniek. It was made by Kappa, quite thin-fitting, classic black and white stripes, but thin stripes - not the big ones you get today."

Chicago Sting away from the NASL era: "It was made by Adidas but it was black with yellow bands across the chest on it. That was early '80s."

Sampdoria from any era: "Sampdoria is probably the best shirt template of all time. So whoever does the Sampdoria shirt, it's usually lovely because I just think that blue with the three bands on it really works for me".
