Cian O'Neill has been appointed as coach to Cork's senior footballers, with the former Kildare boss set to work under manager Ronan McCarthy.
O'Neill left the Lilywhites this summer after four seasons in charge as he felt the county was not reaching their potential.
The Newbridge native is currently the Head of the Department of Sports, Leisure and Childhood Studies at Cork Institute of Technology.
He joins a backroom team which also includes selectors Gary O'Halloran and Sean Hayes and Cork County Board have welcomed his appointment.
"We are delighted to welcome Cian on board given his extensive experience as former Kildare manager, as a former coach to a number of senior inter-county teams in both football and hurling and of course, as Head of Department of Sports, Leisure and Childhood Studies at Cork Institute of Technology," they said in a statement this afternoon.
Kevin Smith has also joined McCarthy's backroom team as strength and conditioning coach.
Laois man Smith previously worked under Michael Cheika at Leinster and Stade Francais.
"Also, joining the Senior Football management team as S&C coach will be Kevin Smith, working under newly appointed High Performance manager Aidan O'Connell. Kevin is a former head of S&C at Stade Français Rugby Club and is currently completing a PhD at Cork Institute of Technology."
