Bolton sign free-scoring former Sligo striker Eoin Doyle

Eoin Doyle has completed a move to English League Two side Bolton Wanderers.

The 32-year old scored 25 times for Swindon Town last season, with whom he spent the bulk of the season on loan from Bradford City.

Doyle's goals helped Swindon win the League Two title, but he'll be staying in the fourth tier of English football following Bolton's relegation.

The Dubliner is a former teammate of recently installed Bolton manager, with the pair having played together at Chesterfield.

"I got a call off the gaffer when he got the job and I’m delighted to be here," Doyle told Bolton's website.

"I played alongside him and I know him well. I kept an eye on what he did at Barrow and they far exceeded expectations, so I’m very excited to be working for him.

"The style his teams play is good for me personally and I cannot wait to get going."

Doyle wants to play his part in getting Bolton climbing back up the EFL ladder, "With the size of the club, it shouldn’t be down here in League Two, but it is. Hopefully I can play a big role, score goals and help the club get back up the leagues.

"The club has a great stadium and a great fan base. I’m coming here after a great season at Swindon, but this is a great place to play football and I’m hoping to contribute with goals and if we can achieve what we want to achieve and earn promotion then that would be a big bonus."

Evatt believes Doyle can help them secure promotion at the first attempt, "Eoin is a statement of intent by the club and is a player I know very well.

"He has many qualities both as a player and as a person, and we are looking forward to getting started."
