Greg Bolger has expressed his thanks to Shamrock Rovers after announcing that he has left the newly-crowned Premier Division champions.
The 32-year-old Wexford native's appearance off the bench in last Sunday's 4-2 Extra.ie FAI Cup Final defeat to Dundalk was his last match in the famous Hoops.
Bolger, who signed for the Tallaght club from Cork City in 2017, revealed the news in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
"Sadly last Sunday was my last time wearing a Shamrock Rovers jersey," Bolger wrote.
"The club informed me about three weeks ago so I was desperate to go out on a high but luck wasn’t on our side Sunday unfortunately.
“I just want to thank the club, fans, player and the management for there [sic] support over the last three years.
"We’ve shared some great memories together which will last a lifetime with me and being part of this club’s history, I’ll be forever grateful for. Thank you.”

As well as his league winners' medal, Bolger also has a 2019 FAI Cup medal to add to his collection after his three seasons with Rovers.
The club thanked him in a short statement on Twitter.
"All at the club thank Greg Bolger for his time [at Shamrock Rovers]. Three great seasons, Greg was a leader on and off the pitch, we wish Greg all the very best in the future," the statement reads.

Bolger, who also played for Sporting Fingal and Dundalk, was a league and cup double winner with Cork City in 2017.
That was after he helped another former club, St Patrick's Athletic, win the 2013 league title and the FAI Cup in 2014.

Bolger will be hopeful of finding a new club before the start of the 2021 season.
