Yoann Huget has been ruled out of the remainder of France's Rugby World Cup following a knee injury sustained during their 32-10 victory over Italy on Saturday evening.
France coach Phillippe Saint-Andre confirmed the worst after the game when speaking to ITV, "It looks like Huget has done his cruciate ligaments so this is not the best news,"
"He's a very important player and a lot of players from Toulouse are in this team and afterwards for four or five minutes we were quite shaky."
Saint-Andre obviously understands the significance of such an injury but insists his side must continue in a positive fashion without Huget.
"Today we have a win and a bad injury but we need to carry on with a smile. It's a fantastic competition."
It happened on 55 minutes when Huget's knee gave way as he stepped inside a tackle on the 22 metre line. He was replaced by Gael Fickou and was clearly devastated as he sat on the sideline with his head in his hands.
