Wind and rain force rowing to be cancelled this afternoon in Rio

Inclement weather has forced organisers to cancel rowing during today's schedule of the Rio Olympics, with wind and rain playing a big role in the decision.

The event was initially suspended but the decision was taken when it appeared there would be no let up in it was decided the event would have to be called off for the day.
