The Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the majority of athletes who make it there; bar the exceptional few who truly stand out, people train their whole lives to get a shot at claiming a medal and going down in the record books.
That explains why athletes tend to push themselves as hard as they can when they get to the Games, making sure that they leave with no regrets.
For example, Ireland's Kieran Behan struggled through a dislocated knee to finish his gymnastics routine last weekend, while French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a horrific leg break as he attempted to give his best in Rio. His bad day didn't end there, however...
Armenian weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan unfortunately joined their ranks on Wednesday night after injuring his left arm during the men's 77kg weightlifting competition.
The resulting video does not make for a pleasant watch, so discretion is definitely advised.

Early reports suggested that he had suffered a dislocated elbow, and was taken to hospital in an ambulance, with his team-mates shaken up by the incident.
The eventual winner was Kazakhstan's Nijat Rahimov, but Karapetyan's probably won't be too concerned about that today as he, hopefully, is on the road to recovery.
