The Kick Off: Reigning champions Kerry reach the All Ireland Final

GAELIC GAMES

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte says they didn't get certain decisions in yesterday's All Ireland semi final defeat to Kerry in Croke park.

0-18 to 1-11 was the final score. The Kingdom will meet either Dublin or Mayo in the final.

It was a also a good day for Jack O'Connor's Kerry's minor side who beat Derry to reach a second All Ireland final in a row.

1-11 to 1-6 was the final score, with Michael Foley scoring 1-3 for the Kingdom.

SOCCER

In the Premier League, Everton boss Roberto Martinez says they need to bring in defensive reinforcements.

With Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo currently unavailable, they lost Brendan Galloway to injury in the second half of their 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City.

Argentine Ramiro Funes Mori is set to have a medical after watching in the stands at Goodison Park.

But Martinez says extra cover is required.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he's happy with the way his team controlled the game and the players' spirit in their first Premier League win of the season.

He refused to comment on the sending off of captain John Terry or other refereeing decisions in the 3-2 victory at West Brom.

But Mourinho did say they may appeal against his red card.

Tonight, Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates, kick off is at 8pm.

There's one game in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup tonight Athlone host Sheriff YC in a Third Round Replay. A trip to Longford Town awaits the winners. Kick off is at 7.45pm

ATHLETICS

It was a disappointing morning for the Irish athletes at the World Championships in Beijing.

Tori Pena missed out on qualification for the Pole Vault final. She reached 4.30 metres but was 30 centimetres short of the automatic standard.

In the 3000 metre Steeplechase, Michelle Finn, Sara Treacy and Kerry O'Flaherty all failed to qualify from the heats this morning ahead of Tuesday's final.
