The Kick Off: Munster prepares for Provincial Replay

GAELIC GAMES

The GAA have confirmed that the Round 2 Hurling Qualifiers could be played at neutral venues, or perhaps even as a double header.

Cork, Clare and Dublin were yesterday joined in the hat by Limerick, and that draw will be made around 8.30am this morning.

Meanwhile Roscommon, Fermanagh, Kildare and Longford all await their fate in Round 3A of the Football Qualifiers.

In Munster, Fitzgerald Stadium will again stage the replay of Cork and Kerry's drawn Provincial Final - Saturday July 18th is the date for that one.

It finished Kerry 2-15, Cork's 3-12.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny secured a 70th Leinster title yesterday, with victory over Galway at Croke Park. Brian Cody's side won 1-25 to 2-15.

Limerick secured their place in this morning's qualifier draw with a 4-15 to 1-12 win over Westmeath in Mullingar.

SOCCER

For the third time, the United States Women's side have won the World Cup.

A 13-minute hat-trick from Carli Lloyd helped Jill Ellis' side to a 5-2 victory over Japan in Vancouver.

The US squad have already been invited to the White House by President Barack Obama.

GOLF

A bogey at the last was to cost her victory, but Leona Maguire put in a superb performance at the Ladies European Masters.

The Cavan native and World's number one ranked amateur player ended the weekend just a shot adrift of eventual winner Beth Allen.

TENNIS

A bumper day's action is in prospect at Wimbledon, with the men's and women's fourth rounds to be completed.

The battle of the Williams sisters opens up proceedings on Centre Court, with top seed Serena facing 16th seed, Venus.

That will be followed by Andy Murray's clash with the veteran Ivo Karlovic

And rounding out the day's programme on Centre, Roger Federer takes on the unseeded Roberto Bautista Agut.

Over on Court Number One, men's top seed Novak Djokovic is slated to face Queen's finalist Kevin Anderson.

The French Open champion and fourth seed, Stan Wawrinka faces the tricky French player, David Goffin

While women's fourth seed Maria Sharapova takes on the Kazakh, Zarina Diyas.

CYCLING

Fabian Cancellara wears the leader's yellow jersey for today's third stage of the Tour de France.

The peloton traverse Belgium on the 160-kilometre trek from Anvers to Huy.

Daniel Martin is the highest ranked Irish man in the race. He lies in 57th place, 2 minutes and 43 seconds behind Cancellara.

HORSE RACING

There's a seven-race programme at Roscommon this evening where the first is off at 5.45pm.
