Michael Fennelly has been included in the Kilkenny team for Sunday's All Ireland semi-final against Waterford.

After missing the Leinster final win over Galway, Fennelly has returned ot the Kilkenny midfield, with John Power dropping to the subs.

The other change from the provincial decider will see Shane Prendergast replace the injured Jackie Tyrrell in the Cats full-back line.

Starting XV: E Murphy; P Murphy, J Holden, S Prendergast; P Walsh, K Joyce, C Buckley; M Fennelly, C Fogarty; W Walsh, R Hogan, T Reid; G Aylward, C Fennelly, E Larkin.

St Patrick's Athletic came out on top in tonight's big game in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

The Saints defeated Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers 2-0 at the Tallaght Stadium to strengthen their grip on third place.

Chris Forrester and Morgan Langley were the goalscorers.

Meanwhile, leaders Dundalk missed out on a chance to open up a nine point lead at the top after they were held to a scoreless draw by Longford Town at Oriel Park.

And Mark Timlin scored twice for Derry City as the Candystripes hammered their hosts Galway United 4-0.

 

In the First Division, Wexford Youths have overtaken Finn Harps at the summit after a 2-0 win at Ferrycarrig Park in their top of the table clash.

UCD heaped more pressure on basement side Waterford United after a 5-1 win in Belfield, while Cabinteely moved further away from the foot of the table with a 1-0 win over hosts Athlone Town.

 

In the Sky Bet Championship tonight, Chris Hughton's Brighton began the season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

 

Irish international Sean St Ledger has found a new club.

Just a week after he was sacked by Orlando City for a "serious breach of club policy", the centre-half has joined MLS rivals Colorado Rapids.

The 30-year-old will link up with his Ireland team-mate Kevin Doyle in Colorado.

Shane Lowry is in outright second place on Day 2 at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Lowry has carded six birdies so far today to move to 5-under par at the Firestone Country Club.

He is now just three shots behind outright leader Jim Furyk, who tops the leaderboard after back-to-back rounds of 66, which have left him on 8-under at the halfway mark.

Meanwhile, Graeme McDowell is on 3-under after a 1-over par round of 71 earlier, while Padraig Harrington is back on 4-over par.
