The Final Whistle: Kerry and Tyrone reveal teams for Sunday

GAA

The Kerry and Tyrone teams have been named ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final.

Tyrone have named Tiernan McCann at wing-forward after he won his appeal against a proposed eight-week ban last night.

It means that the Ulster side have made just one enforced change as Justin McMahon starts at centre-back in place of his brother Joe.

Meanwhile, Kerry have made three changes from their quarter-final win over Kildare.

Team captain Kieran Donaghy starts instead of Paul Geaney after recovering from injury.

Peter Crowley replaces Aidan O'Mahony at centre-back, while Johnny Buckley is picked ahead of Bryan Sheehan in the half-forward line.

Jim McCorry has stepped down as manager of the Down senior footballers.

Despite a disappointing championship exit at the hands of Wexford, McCorry and his backroom team received the backing of county's clubs to continue in the job just last month after helping the team to return to Division 1 for next season.

Meanwhile, the Cork county board have announced that 2010 All-Ireland winners, Paudie Kissane and Noel O'Leary will form part of the management team for the county's minor footballers for the next two seasons.

The pair have been appointed as selectors under new manager Brian Herlihy.

SOCCER

Southampton have been held to a 1-1 draw by FC Midtjylland in the first-leg of their Europa League play-off.

The Danish champions took the lead in first-half stoppage time when midfielder Tim Sparv scored against his former club.

But England international Jay Rodriguez equalised with a penalty for the Saints that leaves the tie delicately balanced ahead of the return-leg in Denmark.

In other football news, Irish international David McGoldrick has put an end to speculation over his future after signing a new contract at Ipswich that keeps him at at Portman Road up until 2018.
