HOCKEY
Ireland’s men’s side gave themselves a huge chance of qualifying for next year’s Olympics.
They finished 5th at the World League event in Antwerp following a 4-1 win over Malaysia.
They will not know for sure whether they have reached Rio until all the continental championships are completed
SWIMMING
Limerick swimmer Fiona Doyle has secured qualification for next year’s Olympic Games.
Doyle achieved the required time by finishing fourth in her semi-final of the 100-metre breaststroke at the World University Games in Korea.
The final of that event takes place at 11am, Irish time tomorrow morning.
SOCCER
Defending champions Japan take on the United States in the final of the Women's World Cup tonight.
Vancouver hosts the decider, with kick-off at midnight Irish time.

Lewis Hamilton moved 17-points clear at the top of the Drivers' standings following his victory in the British Grand Prix.
