Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been sacked with his team rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.
Pearson has been at the centre of some bizarre incidents in recent times, where his behaviour has been oddly erratic. Earlier in the year, he responded aggressively to a catcalling supporter and yesterday, he held Crystal Palace's James McArthur around the neck after the Palace player ended up on the deck in the Leicester technical area after chasing for a ball.
It appears the latter of these two incidents sealed Pearson's fate.
Many still feel Pearson did a good job overall at the club. Pearson was re-appointed as Leicester City for his second spell in 2011, when the club lay 12th in the championship. After an inconsistent season where the side showed only modest improvement, Pearson guided to Leicester to the playoffs where they were defeated by Watford in the semi-final. Last year, they tore through the Championship, winning promotion at a canter and ending the season as champions.
