He beat 2005 champion Shaun Murphy 18-15 in a thrilling final at The Crucible.

Bingham had never got past the quarter-finals before this year.

The 38-year-old is the oldest world champion since Ray Reardon won the tournament in 1978 at the age of 45.

Bingham says it was his semi final win over Judd Trump that set him up for his maiden victory.
