The Gunners lost 3-1 at home to Monaco in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's late goal to make it 2-1 had looked to have given hope to Arsene Wenger's side, but Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco restored Monaco's two-goal advantage.
Kenny Cunningham was scathing of Arsenal's display on Off The Ball afterwards, as was Wenger.
It was also a bad night for last year's beaten finalists, with Atletico Madrid going down 1-0 away to Bayer Leverkusen as well as having Tiago sent off.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth are now four games without a win in the Championship after going down 2-1 away to Nottingham Forest.
Elsewhere, both Merseyside clubs will be hoping to make the last-16 of the Europa League tonight.
Liverpool take a 1-0 lead to Istanbul where they face Besiktas (6.0), while Everton hold a 4-1 advantage heading into their meeting with Swiss side Young Boys at Goodison Park (8.05).
Fiorentina and Tottenham are tied at 1-1 ahead of their meeting at the Artemio Franchi.
And after last week's thrilling 3-3 draw at Parkhead, Celtic take on Inter Milan at the San Siro.
Both games in Italy are underway at 6pm.
