Gary Neville hails Valencia fans passion despite being on the receiving end in recent weeks

Gary Neville's Valencia travel to Estadio Benito Villamarín to take on Real Betis today with the English manager fully aware of what a loss could mean for his future at the club.

The former Manchester United stalwart took over Valencia at a precarious time and he has failed to bring stability to the club who languish in the bottom half of La Liga. They are winless in 11 games in the league and Neville has called on his players to play with a sense of urgency and passion against their opponents today.

He hailed the club's fans even though the passion they were showing was being used against him and the lack of success he has achieved in his short time in Spain.

"I am maybe a bit strange in the way I look at it. We were coming back on the bus and we saw the supporters. I had never seen anything like it my life. I have never seen fans with such passion.

"Obviously it was not for us, it was being used against us, but it made me think: what would it be like here if that passion was in our favour?

"The challenge is to make that work in our favour. We want to see that passion in its positive version."

Neville does not foresee a revolution in his starting selection but knows they will have to create chances and take them if he is to remain in a job beyond this weekend.
