Bernard Brogan misses out on Dublin's All-Ireland final squad

Bernard Brogan, Eoghan O'Gara and Rory O'Carroll have all missed out on being named in Dublin's match-day squad of 26 for this afternoon's All-Ireland senior football final against Kerry.

None of the three are listed in the match-day programme for the game at Croke Park, as Jim Gavin's side go in search of a historic fifth Sam Maguire triumph in a row.

Brogan, a former Footballer of the Year, also missed out on the panel for last year's final win over Tyrone.

He hadn't been in the squad for the semi-final win over Mayo, but did play a role in the Super 8 win over Tyrone earlier in the summer.

O'Gara and O'Carroll also miss out on being named on the substitutes' bench, but there is a place at number 21 for Diarmuid Connolly.

Gavin named his Dublin team yesterday, with no changes to the starting team from that which saw off James Horan's Mayo side on August 10th.

There is a somewhat unexpected call-up for Cuala's Peadar O Cofaigh Byrne who replaces Sean Bugler in the Dublin squad, while Darren Daly replaced Eric Lowndes.

Kerry manager Peter Keane did make one change to his team that saw off Tyrone in the last four.

22-year-old Dr Crokes man Gavin White comes into the starting fifteen as captain, replacing Shane Enright.

White had been named at wing-forward for the last-four win over Tyrone but Brian Ó Beaglaoich came in for him on the day.

He ultimately replaced Shane Enright at half-time and played his part in a three-point win for the Kingdom.

Tommy Walsh is not named to start for Kerry, while Legion star James O'Donogue is set to miss out on today's squad completely having suffered through injury throughout the season.

The action at Croke Park gets underway in the senior decider from 3.30 this afternoon.

That game will be preceded by the minor final, as Galway take on Cork from one o'clock.
