Aiden McGeady ended up hitting four assists for striker Charlie Wyke as Sunderland defeated Doncaster Rovers and made a push for the League One playoff places.
Sunderland recorded a vital win in their race for promotion with a defeat of Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

After a difficult start to the season at Sunderland in which McGeady had fallen out of favour, he has been virtually ever-present since the departure of manager Phil Parkinson.
Two months shy of his 35th birthday, today's performance went some way toward showing what McGeady still has to offer.
Here's a breakdown of the assists and goals - watch full match highlights here.
After converting the first goal from a corner, Wyke and McGeady combined brilliantly in open play for the remaining three.

Elsewhere on the Irish front this week, 38-year-old Wes Hoolahan demonstrated what he's still capable of being named League Two's Player of the Month for January.
After impressing in 2021 with Cambridge United, he spoke of his joy at picking up the award.
"It's been a great month," Hoolahan stated in response to winning the award. "We won so many games and went through January unbeaten, so it really has been a positive month.
"It's certainly been nice to get the assists and a couple of goals to go with it. I'm delighted to win this award, but I couldn't have done it without any of the other lads.
"It's going really well, I'm hoping we can continue this journey and pick up plenty more points along the way."
Cambridge United could only manage a 0-0 draw with Southend United this afternoon.
