This Saturday, Liverpool and Tottenham will do battle in a Premier League fixture that could keep Spurs in the chase after leaders Chelsea or give the Reds their first league win over 2017.
In the last few seasons, Tottenham have overtaken Liverpool on the pitch, finishing above them in the table every season since the end of the 2008-09 season - with the sole exception of the 2013-14 campaign when Brendan Rodgers almost guided Liverpool to glory.
That trend of Spurs having the upper hand on the Merseysiders has not always been the case of course.
Let's take 1995 for example. The 1994-95 season saw Tottenham finish seventh, buoyed by the goals and impact of Jurgen Klinsmann. But they were still 12 points off fourth placed Liverpool that campaign.
In their head to head games that season however, Liverpool and Tottenham drew both league fixtures.
But there was a third fixture in the FA Cup and on that occasion when Spurs won a quarter final match 2-1 thanks to goals from Klinsmann and Teddy Sheringham.
But where are the starting players from that Spurs side from March 11th 1995?
Ian Walker
The goalkeeper started out at Tottenham and went on to make over 250 league appearances at the club, as well as being capped by England.
The 45 year old left Spurs for Leicester City in 2001 before retiring at Bolton Wanderers at the end of a three year spell seven years later.
Since leaving his playing days behind, coaching has been his vocation.

He briefly managed non league Bishop's Stortford six years ago and more recently coached in China at Shanghai Shenhua.
As the goalkeeping coach, he initially worked under ex-Bolton colleague Nicolas Anelka before switching to fellow Shanghai side Shanghai East Asia as a coach under Sven Goran Eriksson.
He left the club last November.
Dean Austin
The defender played for Spurs between 1992 and 1998 and like Walker went down the coaching route. Most recently that took him to the backroom of Watford where he was assistant coach until the arrival of current Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri.
Justin Edinburgh
The 47 year old spent a decade on the books at Tottenham between 1990 and 2000 and won the League Cup in 1999.
The former defender called time on his playing career 11 years ago and like so many others in this 1995 team, went into coaching.
After starting out in non league, he lifted Newport County into League Two in 2013 via the playoffs.
He then took charge at fellow League Two side Gillingham until he was sacked last month. However, he wasn't out of a job for long as Northampton Town swooped in for him and appointed him manager.

David Howells
A product of the Spurs youth ranks, he started out in 1985 and by the time 1995 rolled around, he was still part of the squad - he didn't leave until 1998 when he headed to Southampton.
After working as a PE teacher following the end of his career, he is now Director of Primary Sporting Development.

Colin Calderwood
The former Scotland international spent much of the '90s with Spurs before leaving for Aston Villa in 1999.
Eighteen years on and the 52 year old is Steve Bruce's assistant at Villa, a role he has previously fulfilled at a host of clubs including Norwich City and Birmingham City alongside ex-Ireland and Spurs defender Chris Hughton who's now in charge at Brighton.
Gary Mabbutt
For 16 years, the 55 year old lined out for Tottenham until his 1998 retirement.
The long time stalwart remains close to the club and has been a Spurs ambassador.
Nick Barmby
The Hull native came through the Tottenham youth ranks at the dawn of the '90s and went on to play for Everton and Liverpool, as well as winning England caps.
Shortly after the end of the 1995 season, he was signed by Middlesbrough.
As he finished his career at Hull City in the 2011-12 season, Barmby took over as the club's caretaker manager. But he was sacked in May 2012.
He is currently head coach at Barton Town under-19s.

Jurgen Klinsmann
The most high profile player at the club at the time as a former World Cup winner. And he has had the most high profile coaching career.
He was tasked with the Germany role for the 2006 World Cup on home soil and then managed Bayern Munich in a spell regarded as a failure.
Living in California for many a year after his playing career ended, Klinsmann then became USA manager and took them to the 2014 World Cup, although his time in charge ended last year with a poor start to the 2018 qualifiers.
He remains a cult hero figure among Tottenham fans and his ability to take the mickey out of himself with a diving celebration helped endear him to fans beyond the club.
He scored the 89th minute winner against Liverpool in the cup and overall the 1994-95 season was a huge success for the German as he plundered 30 goals in all competitions. He would return on loan three years later.
Darren Anderton
Darren Anderton spent more than a decade at Tottenham, racking up over 300 appearances and also scored at the 1998 World Cup.
He currently works as a pundit and analyst.
Teddy Sheringham
The 50 year old had a long, long career in the game. After breaking through at Millwall in 1983, he did not retire until 2008 at Colchester United by which time he had played with distinction for Spurs across two spells, won a famous treble for Man United where he scored in the 1999 Champions League and FA Cup finals.
In 2015, he became manager of Stevenage and even re-registered as a player briefly.
In that 1995 match against Liverpool, Sheringham scored Spurs first goal on 45 minutes.
Ronny Rosenthal
The former Israel international first arrived in England when he joined Liverpool at the beginning of the '90s and spent almost a decade playing on the other side of the Irish Sea with the Reds, Tottenham and Watford.
While he is often remembered for an infamous against Aston Villa in 1992, the moment hasn't fazed him over two decades on.
Tottenham didn't make it all the way to the FA Cup final in 1995 as Everton made sure of that in a 4-1 result in the semi finals.
