Three weeks ago, Leicester City were going through a rough patch when they managed to get an away goal in the first leg of their Champions League tie with Sevilla.
Since that 2-1 defeat, much has changed including the identity of the figure who will stalk the sideline for Leicester. Exit Claudio Ranieri, enter Craig Shakespeare and an upturn in form.
The away goal advantage plays into the Foxes' favour, although Sevilla are still favourites given that they are a better team with far more European experience.
This is the club which has won the last three Europa League titles. But before then, the Andalusians won the competition under its former name of the UEFA Cup in consecutive seasons.
In 2007, they won an all-Spanish final against Espanyol on penalties.
But one year before, it was Premier League opposition in the shape of Steve McClaren's Middlesbrough. The result was one sided as Sevilla emerged from Eindhoven with a 4-0 victory.
But what has become of the members of the Boro starting team?
Mark Schwarzer
The Australian goalkeeper only retired at the end of last season at Sevilla's opponents tonight, Leicester City. Unfortunately the fact that the 44 year old did not make a single Premier League appearance means he was not eligible for a winner's medal.
Prior to Chelsea's FA Cup quarter final win over Manchester United, Schwarzer was speaking to talkSport about the match.
Stuart Parnaby
One of many academy produced talents at Middlesbrough at the time, the 34 year old stayed until 2007 before departing for Birmingham City.
However, the right back returned for a second two year spell in 2012.
He retired as a player in 2015 after a season at Hartlepool United. However, he remained at the club after being appointed Pre/Rehabilitation and Conditioning coach.
Chris Riggott
The Derby native left Middlesbrough in 2010 before very brief spells at Cardiff City, hometown club Derby County and Burton Albion.
The 36 year old went on to coach at Derby in the underage ranks and has since moved to Las Vegas where he is still involved in soccer coaching.
Gareth Southgate
He went on to become Middlesbrough manager and then England under-21 manager.
After the departure of Sam Allardyce, he is now in the top job as England manager where he will be the next lightning rod for criticism when another international tournament invariably goes wrong - is it too early to predict a penalty shootout exit - regardless of the cause.

Frank Queudrue
The French left back now works within the world of football agency and representation.
Famously he was one generation away from qualifying to play for Ireland under the grandparent rule.
James Morrison
The England-born Scotland midfielder is still playing in the Premier League. Since leaving boyhood club Boro in 2007, he has been at West Brom ever since. The 30 year old remains a regular under Tony Pulis.
George Boateng
The Dutchman had already played for Coventry City and Aston Villa when he joined Boro in 2002 and left for Hull City in 2008.
The 41 year old retired as a player in 2013 and has gone into coaching. Between 2014 and 2015, he was head coach of Kelantan FA in Malaysia. He has also been doing some punditry.
Fabio Rochemback
The former Brazil and Barcelona midfielder followed in the footsteps of compatriot Emerson in proving to be quite underwhelming. He left the club in 2008 and retired six years later in his homeland.

Stewart Downing
The left winger also came through the academy and remained at the club until Aston Villa came calling in 2009. In 2011, Liverpool made him one of many ultimately fruitless British signings before he went to West Ham for two years in 2013.
But he returned to hometown Middlesbrough and he is part of the team that got promoted back to the Premier League at the end of last season and is currently fighting to stay up.
Mark Viduka
In the case of the former Australia and Celtic striker, he also appeared in a Leeds team we've looked back at.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
A fearsome striker at Chelsea, the Dutchman had a decent goals record at Boro. He left the club two months after the UEFA Cup final to head to Charlton.
These days he's a manager. Starting off in charge of Royal Antwerp, he then took the reins at Burton Albion in England and moved higher up the divisions to manage Queens Park Rangers until he was sacked in November 2016.
