WATCH: Dimitar Berbatov pays tribute to Robbie Keane's Hall of Fame win

Robbie Keane entered the FAI's Hall of Fame at Sunday's FAI International Awards.

The former Ireland captain and record goalscorer, joined the likes of John Giles, Packie Bonner and Ray Houghton in the Hall of Fame, after a distinguished career which saw Keane score 68 goals.

Among the former teammates to pay tribute to Keane was Steven Gerrard and Michael Carrick, but it was Keane's former Tottenham teammate Dimitar Berbatov who summed up the Dubliner best.

“So Robbie Keane's a Hall of Famer? The best possible partnership."

The Bulgarian even joked that Keane in the Hall of Fame could be compared to the relationship the duo had at White Hart Lane.

"But is there any other partnership that can be compared to this one? What do you think Keano? Are you thinking what I’m thinking? I know you do mate. I know you do. Do you remember, you and me on the pitch making fun of the defenders? Scoring for fun?"

Berbatov and Keane won the League Cup together at Spurs, before the Bulgarian moved to Manchester United. He hinted at the fact that that Keane may have even helped get the striker the move.

"You running for both of us, talking for both of us. I do remember. Me playing with you made me a better player and you were always there for the team. You were always there helping the players inside the pitch, outside the pitch. You’ve become the leading goalscorer of your country – what an achievement that is."

"So you fully deserve to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Congratulations to you, I wish you all of the luck in the world in everything you do in life. It was an honour playing with you."
