Tottenham beat Millwall to reach FA Cup semi-final

Tottenham Hotspur eased past Millwall 6-0 in the quarter-final of the FA Cup on Sunday at White Hart Lane.

The home side dominated from the off with Harry Winks and Dele Alli impressing early on.

There was bad news for Maurico Pochettino's side after Harry Kane injured his ankle after taking a shot in the opening minutes and was unable to continue.

Christian Eriksen came on in his place and opended the scoring in the 31st minute with a beautiful half-volley from just inside the box.

Victor Wanyama almost doubled the lead moments later when his header came back off the crossbar.

However, Spurs didn't have to wait long to double their lead. Heung-Min Son picked the ball up on the right wing, made his way into the Millwall penalty area and curled a beautiful shot around King in the visitor's goal in the 41st minute.

The teams went into the break at 2-0.

The home side picked up from where they left off and Son grabbed his second of the match after he volleyed into the net from a log ball from Trippier in the 54th minute.

Millwall never really had a chance as they were hounded by Spurs at every possible opportunity.

Tottenham continued to turn the screw and when Trippier cut a ball back to Eriksen on the edge of the area, the Dane played a pin-point cross into the path of the on-rushing Dele Alli would made it 4-0.

Spurs made a few changes and brought on Vincent Janssen who scored his first goal from open play for Tottenham when he steered a low shot past King into the corner of the net after good build-up play from Son.

Janssen nearly had a second but he headed straight at the keeper from five yards out minutes later. The home side continued to press and Son grabbed his hat-trick at the death after a howler from King in the Millwall net.
