Top four finish would be a success for Liverpool - James Milner

Liverpool's James Milner says that a top-four finish in the Premier League would make this a successful season for the club.

A 4-0 victory over West Ham strengthened Liverpool's chances of clinching a top-four spot on the table this weekend. The result leaves them one point above fourth-placed Man City, and four points clear of Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp's side have just one more League fixture remaining against a relegated Middlesbrough, which should be a game where they can pick up more points.

Following today's victory, Milner spoke to Off The Ball's Nathan Murphy.

And when asked if cementing that top-four spot would make this a successful season for Liverpool, Milner replied:

"I think at this stage yes because that's what we've got left to play for. I think obviously at the start of the season, you want to go out and win trophies and we've fallen short in that department this year.

"I think if we can get (into) the Champions League and I think if you see the steps that teams made again going forward, I think we've improved again. The squad is another year older and another year with the manager, I think that improvement is there for everyone to see."
