Top lightweight contender Tony Ferguson is chasing a fight with either Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz as he looks to extend his nine fight winning streak.
Ferguson was due to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 209 in the co-main event only for the bout to be scrapped after the Russian was taken to hospital after issues when he was making weight.
Speaking on UFC Tonight he said: "It depends on where his [McGregor] heart is at. I want to fight somebody that wants to fight. I don't want to fight somebody that's forced to fight. I want to fight a top contender. I want the best fighters that are out there in the world.
"As far as lightweight contention, I've put in my time, I've put in my numbers and this is where it's at. If Conor wants to leave the belt and pursue some sort of victory in the boxing world, which I don't think he is. The dude has got a punchers chance but vacate the belt right now and drop it where it's at and we'll fight for the title belt in international fight week [in July].
"I know a couple of heads out there, I know the only person I would like to go toe-to-toe with, who probably needs some lesson taught to him, is Nate Diaz. I would love to go toe-to-toe with him. For anybody else that's out there, you don't deserve a shot," he added.
McGregor is currently on paternity leave as he awaits the birth of his first child. Diaz hasn't fought since he lost his rematch with the Dubliner as he holds out for the inevitable rubber match.
Ferguson hasn't been inside the octagon since he beat former champion Rafael Dos Anjos last November and his bout with Nurmagomedov was due to reveal the number one contender to the Irishman. Ferguson, as well as everyone else, awaits McGregor's next move.
