Tom Brady's stolen Super Bowl LI jersey is found

Tom Brady's jersey from Super Bowl LI has reportedly been found.

The New England Patriots quarterback has his jersey stolen from the dressing rooms, after the team's historic comeback last month.

Brady won his fifth Super Bowl ring in the 34-28 overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons. The 39-year-old led the team from a 25-point deficit to win in Houston.

"I put it in my bag, and I came out and it wasn’t there any more", Brady said the day after the game. "It’s unfortunate because that’s a nice piece of memorabilia. If it shows up on eBay somewhere, someone let me know so I can track that down."

Before the jersey was tracked down, some estimates said the jersey was at least worth $500,000.

In a statement released by the NFL on Monday, the league confirmed that the jersey was found, but not in America.

"Through the cooperation of the NFL and New England Patriots' security teams, the FBI and other law enforcement authorities, the Super Bowl LI jersey worn last month by MVP Tom Brady has been recovered."

"Also retrieved during the ongoing investigation was the jersey Brady wore in the Patriots' victory in Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks in 2015."

"The items were found in the possession of a credentialed member of the international media. Due to the ongoing investigation, we would refer any additional questions to the FBI."

The news that Brady's jersey from Super Bowl XLIV, two years ago, adds to the intrigue of an already fascinating story.
