Sunday Night Takeaway: Pressure on Arsenal after draw

The pressure continues to mount on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after his side drew 2-2 with Man City at the Emirates on Sunday.

Going into the match on the back of successive 3-1 defeats the Londoners could have done with a win to keep their hopes of a top four finish alive.

An early Leroy Sane goal gave the visitors the lead as Pep Guardiola's men looked to capitalise on Chelsea's loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The game was played at a frenetic pace at times with both sides desperate for a win. Theo Walcott equalised for the home side in the 42nd minute to lift the home crowd.

Those cheers were soon silenced two minutes later when Sergio Aguero fired past Ospina after good work from Kevin De Brune and David Silva and City went in at half-time 2-1 up.

Mustafi levelled  with a header from a corner early in the second half but neither side could find a winner and had to settle for a draw.

The draw keeps Arsenal in sixth place on 51 points while City stay fourth but move up to 58 points.

The other game of the day was a classic relegation six pointer only for Swansea and Middlesbrough to play out a boring scoreless draw.

The result did little for either team's survival hopes although it was important neither let the other win. Swansea are point above the relegation zone on 28 points while Middlesbrough move on to 23 points.
