Seamus Coleman's goals are Everton's lucky charm

Seamus Coleman looks set to make his 200th Premier League appearance for Everton on Wednesday evening, against Stoke City.

The Donegal defender's meteoric rise at the club continues, after joining from Sligo Rovers in January 2009. Signed as a 20-year-old, the Killybegs defender made his debut, the following October in a Europa League game against Benfica in Lisbon.

Days later he made his league debut against Tottenham, earning the man-of-the-match award. 198 league games later, and 42 caps for Ireland, Coleman will put on an Everton jersey for the 200th time in a league match, in Stoke.

Ahead of the game at the bet365 Stadium, Everton revealed that the club have never lost a game when Coleman scored. He equals the club record with the now-Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe.

This season alone, Coleman has scored four times in the League for The Toffees. His 24th goal for the club came last month, in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

After starting his career in the League of Ireland, Coleman has called reaching 200 League appearances for Everton as "a great honour". The Goodison Park faithful will hope his goal scoring record continues for a long time to come.
