Seamus Coleman's leg break on Friday night has shown how popular and respected the Donegal defender really is.
Over the past week, countless teammates past and present have spoken of their admiration for the Irish captain, off the back of his horrific injury.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has won a European Cup as a player with Barcelona, and a European Championship with The Netherlands. He has also managed all around Europe, including spells in his native Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and now England.
The 54-year-old Dutch legend has worked with many players in his time, but his comments about Coleman shows how highly the Killybegs star is rated.
"In all my years in football, Seamus is one of the best professionals I’ve ever worked with at any club", Koeman told Everton's website.
"His dedication to the game, his attitude and motivation are always where they should be and that’s 100%, and he’s like that in training every day as well as in games."
"He is valued very much as a player, which makes it really difficult that we are talking about an injury that will keep him out for six, seven months, something like that."
While there is still no time-frame for Coleman's return, he can be sure of the support of all at Everton in his long recovery.
