Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says Joe Hart's future at the Etihad Stadium will not be discussed until the summer.
The England goalkeeper is currently on loan at Italian top flight side Torino, having been dropped down the pecking order as Guardiola signed Chile and former Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo.
The decision appeared to be down to question marks over Hart's distribution from the back, with Bravo and his former understudy Willy Caballero seen as stronger in that regard.
Hart has given an interview to BBC in which he said that he is "surplus to requirements at his parent club."
Speaking on the BBC Premier League Show, the England No 1 said: "I'd say I'm pretty much surplus to requirements at my parent club at the moment.
I have got to be realistic. I love that club and I have always said, as long as they want me, I will be there.
"I don’t know where my future lies, in terms of time-wise, because I’ve certainly had no communication with anyone."
Hart had added that, "If you're not going to win there is no point in fighting, especially someone as powerful as that".
Guardiola won't be drawn on whether there's a possibility of Hart returning to his plans at City.
"Joe Hart is a Manchester City player and we will decide at the end of the season," he said in the pre-FA Cup press conference when the issue was raised.
"We will explain at the end of the season about all the players."
