Ireland women's captain Niamh Briggs has been ruled out of the rest of their Six Nations campaign.
A scan's revealed that the 57-times capped full-back has suffered a hamstring injury.
"A scan on the 57-times capped full-back has confirmed a hamstring injury, ruling Niamh out for the remainder of the Women’s 6 Nations Championship," read a statement by the IRFU today.
"She will work with the IRFU medical staff to rehab the injury over the coming weeks."
She was rest in the opening two games of the campaign but further assessment has ruled her out for the entirety of the campaign.
Ireland are top of the standings after back-to-back wins over Scotland and Italy. They face France in Donnybrook next Sunday, February 26.
