Monk and Wagner given bans for touchline spat

The managers of Huddersfield and Leeds have both been given suspensions after clashing on the touchline in their fiery Championship encounter earlier this month.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has been banned for two matches - while Leeds chief Garry Monk will miss one game. They've also been fined by the Football Association.

The pair were in trouble for clashing following Huddersfield's late winner in the West Yorkshire derby. Michael Hefele was on hand to to score a late winner, to which Wagner ran to join his players in celebration.

Monk defended his actions after the game by saying: "I can only speak for myself. In my world and where I've been brought up, my values are to have humility, to have respect and to have a bit of class.

"When I don't see that, I take it upon myself to make sure that's put right. It is what it is. I didn't make anything of it to be honest, but I live by my values and those are values I hold dearly to myself and to my team. My team live by that."

Each club have been fined £10,000 and warned about their future conduct.
