Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has signed to fight Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia in July.
The fight was originally put together for April but the Filipino chased a more lucrative bout with Amir Khan in the middle east. That fight fell apart when the proposed investors didn't raise the cash so Pacquiao's team decided to take a fight down under.
Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title will be on the line when the pair square off at Suncorp Stadium on Australia's east coast.
Horn is relatively unknown in boxing circles and the fight will be viewed as a gimme for Pacquiao. The legendary fighter is in the twilight of his career and it was hoped he would fight one of the up and coming names in his division, namely Keith Thurman.
The bout is backed by local politicians and will be seen as a major coup for Australian boxing. Speaking at a press conference to announce the fight, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said: "Up to 55,000 boxing fans from across Australia and the world are expected to fill Suncorp Stadium to see the local teacher taking on one of the biggest names in boxing history, on his home turf.
"The match is a highlight on the state's major events calendar and is set to deliver an economic boost to the city."
Pacquiao has a record of 59-6-2 while Horn will enter the bout undefeated on 16-0-1.
Michael Conlon could feature on the under-card as he shares the same promoter as the Pacman.
